The terms
Plain words, honestly kept. These are the baseline terms of projects.rip — a cemetery for projects, ideas & dreams. They are written by the cemetery's keepers, not yet passed by counsel; a professional pass comes before any money ever changes hands. Questions go to care@projects.rip.
What this place is
projects.rip hosts obituaries for dead projects: public memorial pages written by the people who tended them. An account is a free plot; the interment ceremony is the publishing act.
The content grant
The obituaries and images you inter remain yours. By lowering a grave you grant projects.rip a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display that obituary and its images as the public memorial page you made — including the copies serving, caching and backing up a website requires. The grant ends for content that is removed; the custody and moderation records about it survive (see the privacy page).
The casket is different
A casket (the sarcophagus's encrypted archive) is never published and never read: “we hold the casket; only you hold the key.” We store it as received; at rest, a second seal of ours rides yours; we still cannot read your contents. It leaves the vault only through the exhumation rite — a mailbox-confirmed, prepared, recorded pickup — and only to its owner.
What may stand here
The grounds are for laying projects, ideas and ventures to rest. What may not stand: content that is illegal; harassment or doxxing of people; spam, link schemes, or promotion dressed as an obituary; content that misappropriates someone else's name or work. Every interment passes a pre-publication machine check (see the privacy page); a flagged interment waits, unpublished, for a human's word.
Notice and action
Every public grave page carries a report door. A complete, good-faith report is acknowledged and assessed; content under review may be withdrawn behind a pending-review notice — fully dark, nothing deleted — while the owner is heard. The owner of anything restricted receives a statement of reasons and a reply door: a counter-statement to care@projects.rip within 14 days, assessed with the review. How this works end to end is on the site notice page.
Honest limits
The free plot holds one standard grave, one casket up to the posted cap, and rationed rites (letters, placements, exhumations, interments) — the rations are posted at each refusal, in plain words. The service is offered as it stands, without warranty of uninterrupted rest; we may decline, hold, or withdraw content per these terms, and we delete nothing as a moderation act — deletion is a deliberate, separate act.
Leaving
Write to care@projects.rip and we release your account and everything it tends.
Changes
When these words change, the change is dated here. Baseline wording; the keepers tune it during the testing season.
